This talented cowgirl is 12 years old and is known for her signature cow horses, her cowgirl heart and true horsemanship. Known to be as kind as she is tough .Piper comes from the hard grass country in Southern Alberta and is a 5th generation cowgirl. When not roman riding, doing liberty horsemanship or trick riding, Piper spends her time team roping and competing in cutting and working cow horse, as well as helping on her family ranch. Awards include 3X Canada Pro Rodeo Dress Act of the Year, 3X PRCA Top 5 Dress Act Nominee and PRCA National Finals Rodeo Opening Act. Piper Yule has performed at many big named rodeos such as San Angelo, National Western, Pendleton, Sheridan, Red Bluff, Clovis, San Antonio and headlined for Art of the Cowgirl.


TIK MAYNARD



Tik joins us fresh from competing at Road to The Horse

For much of his twenties, Tik competed full time in the sport of Modern Pentathlon (running, swimming, shooting, fencing, show jumping). Tik was on the Canadian National Team and a two-time National Championship. He has also competed at multiple World Cups, World Championships, and at the 2007 Pan-Am Games in Rio.
Since 2008, Tik has been training horses full time. After spending three years as a working student, he became assistant trainer to Anne Kursinski, then the head trainer at Bow Brickhill Stables in New Jersey. After marrying Sinead Maynard, Tik started his own business, then in 2016, after Tik and Sinead bought Copperline Farm in Citra, Florida, they merged their businesses into one.
Tik has evented at the Advanced level and been long-listed and short-listed for Canadian National Three-Day Event Team.
Tik is a two-time freestyle winner (2015 and 2018) at the Thoroughbred Makeover and has also judged the competition (2017).
Tik serves as an on-line instructor for The Horseman’s University and for the Noelle Floyd Equestrian Masterclass. He is a regular guest on podcasts, and a contributor to the Practical Horseman, Noelle Floyd, Chronicle of the Horse, Horseman’s Journal, and others. Tik was a columnist for Off-Track Thoroughbred Magazine for six years.
Tik is the author of In The Middle Are The Horsemen, published by Trafalgar Square Books, in 2018. The book was then published in German, 2020 and to an audiobook in 2021.


MICHAEL WAKEFIELD
Certified Level lll and CAA Master Driver.


In 2009,Michael started Three Hats Training Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Three Hats Training Center is an approved Carriage Association of America Evaluation Center and boasts on site equipment for single, pair, tandem, and 4-in-hand as well as suitable horses and vehicles. Michael has a formidable training background, with over 40 years of experience with driving and training horses of many breeds in many disciplines.
Michael has competed in fine harness, pleasure, Combined Driving Events, log skids and was the driver and manager for the Wells Fargo Stagecoach Appearance Program and participated in parades and rodeos all over Northwest US.
RODNEY TULLOCH


Rodney Tulloch is a versatile competitor with great success in the hunter derbies but is equally adept and happy in all rings. His love of horses began very young, having been fortunate enough to grow up on his parent’s farm north of Edmonton, Alberta. At 16 years old, his competition career began, and since then, he has competed, coached, and trained at many different levels and locations across North America.

 Rodney has many accomplishments as a coach and enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds. Rodney has riders qualify for and compete at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario; Royal West; The Alberta Select Team; and HITS Palm Desert, with championships in the Adult and Children Hunters and Jumpers circuit. While at the Royal, he’s had many CET and Jump Canada medal placer in the top 10. He has coached multiple students to the Final Four ride-off during the Spruce Meadows Summer Series and twice coached students on the winning 1.20 m team at the Sacramento International Horse Show. He’s also had several Junior riders compete at the North America Young Riders (NYAR), twice having riders on the gold medal team.

 Landmark Farms is the name of his company, and Rodney trains at two facilities – one outside Calgary in Millarville and Landmark West in Langley, BC. Landmark has also enjoyed much success in acquiring equine talent overseas and across North America and takes pride in developing quality prospects for all rings.


TREVOR MERTES



If you want a calm horse, stay calm. If you want a patient horse, be patient.”
This is a quote from one of Trevor’s mentors, which he lives by everyday.
A good portion of Trevor’s life has been riding range for different ranches across Western Canada and the US, where true cowboying still exists.
More recently, he’s been competing in Extreme Cowboy Challenges, where he applies his style of horsemanship and consistently places in the Green Horse and Pro Divisions.
In November 2018 and 2019 he placed in the top 20 at the EXCA World Finals.
Trevor's Extreme Cowboy reputation has been growing and has led him to provide a number of clinics in Canada and the USA. Trevor is currently the leading Extreme Cowboy clinician in Canada, putting on around 25 plus specific Extreme Cowboy clinics a year.
Trevor also hosts and organizes Extreme Cowboy races at a number of different fairs and events across Western Canada. He has also had the opportunity to compete in ‘Colt Starting Challenge USA’ in February 2020 in Denver, Colorado where he placed very well overall. Most recently, he placed 6th in the world at the Extreme Cowboy World Finals 2022, in the pro division on his stallion Drifter, landing him the title of
the top ranked Canadian in the division.
Originally from British Columbia, where his ranching roots started, he now runs his company called “Horses That Work” out of Cochrane, Alberta. Trevor brings his down-to-earth approach to horsemanship in any discipline of riding through a variety of training programs and clinics.

JASON IRWIN


Jason Irwin teaches clinics at horse expos and events throughout North America on a large variety of topics ranging from colt starting, to liberty horse training, to working with problems horses. Jason Irwin and his wife Bronwyn own and operate Jason and Bronwyn Irwin Horsemanship and are the hosts of the TV show 'The Horse Trainers'. Jason presents training information in a practical and easy to understand format that is suitable for beginners to advanced riders.




PETER GRAY




Peters’ training is diverse, and he has a special interest in producing young horses in a variety of disciplines depending on where their talents lie. This has made him a popular clinician throughout north America preparing students for dressage, equitation, jumpers, and Eventing. As a competitor, Peter has competed at most 4* and 5* international events in north America and Europe; he has competed in three Olympic games, world championships and is a Pan Am Eventing individual bronze medalist. In addition to his Eventing, Peter is currently competing at the Fei levels of Dressage.
Peter is one of only 2 Equine Canada certified level 4 coaches, ICP level 4, and is a keen educator of aspiring coaches. He was national coach for Canada from 1996-2000, young rider coach for Ontario 2009-2013 and national coach for Venezuela and Guatemala. Peter is actively involved in the certification program of coaches in Canada and in the U.S. as well as an organizer of many coaching symposiums, clinics, and competitions.
His experience as a competitor and coach has seated him on many committees including the F.E.I. Eventing and risk management committees, Equine Canada high performance, EC coaching, co chair of the united states Eventing association professional riders council and the USEA board of governors.
